From Novice to Nailed It! A Week in the Life of a Work Experience Student at Our Studio

Meet Georgina Wright, a talented and enthusiastic Year 12 student from Rugby High School, who embarked on a week long journey through our interior design studio for her work experience placement. With an unquenchable passion for design and a creative flair that knows no bounds, Georgina dove headfirst into the dynamic world of interior design, eager to learn, grow, and explore her potential. Throughout this transformative week, she experienced the ins and outs of our bustling studio, working alongside our skilled designers and gaining valuable hands-on experience in a range of exciting projects. Working on a real project brief for an indian restaurnat concept, Georgina really got to grips with the challenges and excitement of the job role and immersed herself in learning about the profession.

“Before the placement, I only had limited knowledge about interior design, for example, from what I’ve learnt from watching shows about it. Right from when I started, everyone was so welcoming and encouraging, which made it a lot easier to learn. I spent most of my time creating a design for a restaurant and I got to try makinga plan for it which was something I’d never done before and I found I really enjoy doing it.

One of my favourite parts was getting to go out and see a project that they are working on, and I felt that it taught me a lot about the career and that it is definitely something I’d love to go into. I’m really grateful that I was able to do my work experience there, and am now looking to do a degree in interior design which is largely thanks to Nicky, Michael and Jay and how supportive they were.” - Georgina Wright
