Inspiring the Next Generation: A week of Work Experience with Emma & Jasmine

At BOXX Design Studio, we firmly believe in nurturing young talents and providing them with real-world experiences that shape their futures. For one transformative week, we opened our doors two aspiring students, inviting them into our dynamic interior design studio. Throughout their time with us, these bright minds not only observed and learned from our seasoned team but also got a chance to showcase their own exceptional project.

Emma Sutton, 17 from Heart of England School & Jasmine Kraft, 15 from Kenilworth School & VI Form Joined us over last week and we were thrilled to host them and work through a live project brief with them.

“I had the opportunity to spend a week of work experience with BOXX Design Studio, where Nicky, Michael and Jay introduced me to a career into interior design and showed me their current and recent projects. I undertook a piece of research into different interior design trends, after which I was given a design brief to follow. With their guidance, I was able to be creative and express my own ideas through designing mood boards for an Indian restaurant. I was also able to complete a floor plan. At the end of the week, I presented my work to them and they provided me with useful feedback on areas I did well and could improve on. The week was really enjoyable and insightful. I am very grateful for the time they spent with me to broaden my knowledge of interior design, which will be helpful to me in the future.” - Emma Sutton

“I have always enjoyed designing, I always have a vision when I walk into a building and wish to remake it . You [also] covered both residential and commercial, I never knew that was a thing.

I really enjoyed creating the mood board and working on Michael's ipad at the end to design a restaurant using the floor plan. I wanted to understand the field better. I came out understanding a lot more than what I did when I first came in. I learnt about the different types of interior design and I learnt what the different steps are to it and got shown how to use CAD.
